Nature is a constant source of inspiration to me, and I usually work in series, concentrating on a particular theme or technique for as long as there seems more to explore and it offers me a challenge.

I mainly use acrylics, inks, oil paints, watercolours and pencil to create both figurative and abstract images, as well as stone lithography and other less commonly used materials. Most recently it was one particular old olive tree that kept me fascinated for three years, which has become the springboard for my next project - the family tree.

Although I discovered a passion for art very early in life, it took many years, and many twists and turns until I met the person to help me find the confidence to do something about it. By that time I had had many jobs that often ran concurrently - as a teacher, a journalist, a writer, an editor and a homeopath.

In 2001, well into my middle years, I fulfilled a life-long ambition to graduate in Art, qualifying with a First Class Honours Degree in Creative Arts (Art and Creative Writing) from Bath Spa University College.
The following year I was awarded a Fellowship in Stone Lithography, and joined the Sherborne Contemporary Arts Society, where I was eventually elected as Chairperson.
In 2003 I travelled to Cyprus to undertake a Postgraduate Diploma in Art at the Cyprus College of Art. During the following eleven years in Cyprus I was an active member of the art community, exhibiting frequently, running workshops, participating in Open Studio and charity events and teaching Art History and Printmaking at the Cyprus College of Art.
In 2014 I moved to Ibiza for family reasons. I now live and create in Sa Pobla, where I arrived in January 2023.
