On Friday 15 August, the artist finalists in the Artists of Mallorca Art Prize 2025 gathered with their friends and family to enjoy the lovely surroundings of the Museu of Soller and the exhibition once more before the announcement of the winners.
Florencia Davies from our sponsor Lightwall, Palma was on hand to present the winner with their voucher for 3000€ of Art Printing.

There was definitely an air of anticipation in the room!
At just before 9pm, it was time to make the announcements, starting with the result of the Artists of Mallorca Eleccion Popular 2025. Once more this had been a huge success, with 445 people coming to the Museum to see the exhibition and vote for their favourites in the little tins.
La Catedral by Natalia Aguilar was the clear winner, with over 10% of the vote. This oil on canvas painting of the iconic Palma Cathedral clearly was highly admired by visitors, congratulations Natalia.
The winner of the Artists of Mallorca Art Prize 2025 was voted for by the jury, comprising Natalia Spitale, Miguel Angel Delgado and Silvia Fau. As always, this was a very difficult task, with so many great works to decide between. I really appreciate the amount of time and energy they give to this.
After much deliberation, they chose:
Llucalcari is a reduction linocut on Kitikata paper. The judges were impressed by the expert technique and level of detail, use of colour and the representation of Mallorca. Congratulations, Leo.
The Grand Final is the culmination of months of work for me, and I am delighted when the Art Prize is such a great success, with so many people participating, and engaging with the art. I enjoyed being in the Museum de Sóller during the vote, having the opportunity to chat to so many people and hear their views on the exhibition. One thing I definitely had to come to terms with is that it is just too hot in August , so next year, we will be doing this in September!
Thanks again to Lightwall for sponsoring Artists of Mallorca through the year, particularly for the generous addition to the Art Prize, and thanks to the Museu de Sóller for inviting us to use the gallery for the exhibition.
Saludos
Sharon
