Max Cantrell

English Multidisciplinary artist (painting, scultpture and writing) born in South Africa and nationalized Spanish, he lives and works in Mallorca, Balearic Islands.

He has exhibited principally in Madrid (Gallery Alfama, Dionis Bennassar (various times), Quorum, etc) In Germany (The Dream Factory Gallery in Frankfurt, in the USA among others) and in Palma de Mallorca, (Galeria Berlin, Galeria Maryarte, Ahoy Gallery, Alma Vintage, etc).

In 1993 he was chosen as the the most promising artist in New York by the prestigious magazine Art Review. He has received numerous prizes and distinctions all around the world.

He has work in both private and public collections in Madrid, Fuerteventura, Bangkok, Perth, New York, Los Angeles, San Diego, Indianapolis, Zurich, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Paris, Johannesburg, London amongst other places. His work hangs in the Contemporary Art Museums of  Fort Wayne, Indiana and Puerto Rosario, Fuerteventura.

He is strongly engaged in artistic charity events having founded SOLIDART in 2022 to raise funds for the Ukraine and more recently to help the victimns of floods in Valencia.

The ocean is not just around us. It is in us.
