The legends say Hippokampoi were the mounts of Nereid nymphs and sea-gods. These mythical creatures appear in the Homeric poems as the symbol of Poseidon, whose chariot was drawn over the surface of the sea by two or four of them. This fish-tailed horse of the sea is strongly associated with creativity and imagination. It also symbolizes true love, grace, loyalty, humility and freedom which here are pouring out of its Horn of plenty.
