Orlando Lund

Born in London, Orlando grew up surrounded by interesting artwork, books, music and design. Never without a sketchbook, he became an accomplished draughtsman at an early age. He also became very interested in composing and creating music, and wherever possible, combining music and art.
Orlando immersed himself in a music career on leaving school, and over the years has become a published songwriter with Virgin Music, a multi-instrumentalist band leader with groups such as 'The Big Cheese All Stars', 'Palma Groove Project', and 'Spacecake International'. Currently he is also a music creator for the visual arm of Warner Chappel, and has regularly played concerts at world class venues like Ronnie Scott's, The Jazz Café, and London's Barbican Centre. As well as performing across Europe on tours and festivals, Orlando has become an experienced songwriter, arranger and music producer, often combining his visual art skills to design logos and album covers too.
In the mid 90s Orlando teamed up with renowned graphic designer Storm Thorgerson of Hipgnosis, at a time when supergroup Pink Floyd needed accomplished, imaginative artists to bring to life their surreal film backdrops for their world tour. Simultaneously he studied computer graphics at the London College of Printing.
Orlando's painting 'Atomic Dog' was used as the main publicity piece for the 2010 bi-annual 'AAF' in London. Subsequently his animal paintings (including many private commissions) have combined strong colours, popular song lyrics, and physically impressive beasts into his signature contemporary graphic artform.
Orlando's paintings, graphic artwork, font design, photography and music strongly show his influences from popular culture and media. He continues to produce commissions, and to write, perform and record music. These days he spends a lot of his time in Esporles, Mallorca, and has been coming to Mallorca since the early 70s.
