Janis Bär

Janis Bär is a contemporary charcoal artist based in Mallorca, Spain. Working primarily with charcoal and graphite on paper, she creates realistic portrait drawings that explore memory, identity, vulnerability and human emotion.



Her work focuses on the stories, emotions and experiences reflected in the human face. Through careful observation and detailed black-and-white portraiture, she seeks to capture not only appearance, but also the traces of personal history and emotional depth that remain beneath the surface.
