Jeronima Jaume Clar

Jeronima Jaume Clar

Jerónima held her first painting exhibition, Arenes, in Pollença in 2016. Arenes is a series made up of twenty-one works inspired by the shapes, the materials and the colors typical of the coasts of the island of Mallorca and the Mediterranean. This work becomes the starting point of Jerónima’s career and his relationship with painting.

Most of Jerónima’s artistic practice is abstract and suggestive, characterized by the combination of texture and a particular chromatic range. She works from an experimental perspective, creating pieces where raw materials, such as concrete, plaster or sand, are the protagonists. A set of volumes that evoke natural morphologies and visually harmonic compositions.

Jerónima likes to consider her work as a constant experimentation to transla- te concrete circumstances of the artist’s life into a plastic and abstract lan- guage. The concern for the visually beautiful, the physical, the energy or the human being are some of the concepts that she has worked on and inspire her works.

I try to converge a feeling in a concept, which I translate through textures and colors into my own visual language.
The new, (what happens to me) inspires me to create.

Her last international exhibition was held in September 2021 in Greece, with two of his works in a collective exhibition in the city of Athens. She currently works full time in her studio in Llucmajor, Mallorca. She plans to exhibit at: Artist Experience (from December 1 to 5, 2021) and Luxemburg Art Fair (from December 2 to 5, 2021). Inn addition to inaugurating the opening of her studio in October 2021.

All the artworks attached are part of my new series Aire:

Starting from the idea of representing the construction materials of the Mediterranean, the concept of this series is extended.

A constant experimentation that continues.

Jerónima wants to immerse herself in matter creating pieces that build the path to volume.

She uses “naked” material, in the crudest way, maintaining a duller color range than usual, which allows the texture of the materials to be the protagonists of her pieces

.

This series continues under construction until the artist finishes it once it reaches the volume, the sculpture.
