Lived in Penzance, Cornwall until I was 18 years old

Studied Hotel Management at Cornwall college and worked in Hotels in England and abroad.

In the 80s started Interior Design Company and eventually the contract division specialising in Hotels . Received various editorials in National and local magazines. Short listed twice for the National Advertising Awards for Reed Publishing Magazines. The second year winning the award for Hotels and interior design adverts (both times against  Saatchi and Saatchi of London).

My name entered in the who's who of International Group Hotels as one of the top designers.  In 92 asked for editorial for Burkes  Peerage Magazines as one of the top 13 up and coming designers.  Enquiries world wide for Hotel design projects. Closed business  in recession, late 92..

Moved to the Loire France,for 2 years and eventually moved to the South of Spain .

I finally settled in Andalusia in a white moorish pueblo, nestled in the mountains .  Without work but inspired by my surroundings and my situation, I asked a friend for something to paint on.  This was the start of my passion.  Painting on whatever I could find from tables to pieces of wood found on the mountainside and odd pieces of sculpture made of chicken wire,rubbish and resin.  I was offered exhibitions in the Marbella and area but decided to concentrate on my business , I soon had the opportunity to start . Eventually I returned to France to renovate my old farmhouse . I  started to paint and exhibit again .

In 2010 my new collection began. To simplify the content of my paintings, I used just torn newspaper as my principal inspiration and bold acrylic colours.  The characters more cartoon in their appearance outlined with a simple line and colours denoting moods and space. A more naive portrayal, in simple form.  A pun perhaps on real life in all its diversity.

I now live on the  beautiful island of Mallorca  and know that all the hardship was worth it.

To the present day I hope I have expanded my technics and vision to be always interesting .  Using acrylic, oils, oil pastels, with collages of torn newspaper on canvas,carton, board and paper. Developing my portraits and new contemporary themes. My work hopefully portraying energy and a new way to look at the world. Sometimes to make people smile and give a 'feel  good factor'.
