Petra Maruschek, born in 1960, is a trained bookseller and lives in Düsseldorf and on Mallorca near Santanyi. She works with unconventional materials such as swamp lime and marble powder, which she uses in her very own way. The drying process of these materials leads to unpredictable cracks and textures that bring the works to life in a mysterious way. She is inspired by the subtle structures of the nature and reveals the beauty in imperfection. Her works invite us to take a closer look, to discover stories behind the obvious and to question our own perception.
