Emma OWEN
Emma Owen I studied design at Camberwell School of Art in London and, while producing my own work, taught Fine Art and Fashion in College. My own style then was hyper real and I worked on commissions painting people’s treasured possessions:heirloom china; wedding shoes; jewellery and dogs. Mallorca is so different to London. The light, colours, textures and forms in the landscapes and cityscapes are deeply inspiring and have changed the way I work completely. I begin my pieces by layering images I have taken in Palma, Soller and Fornalutx, looking for interesting juxtapositions and tensions between elements. I may generate thirty or forty abstract layout before finalising my ideas. Arches a
