Story of a Painting
In 2023, I ( Sharon MacLaren) took a series of photos to paint from, and did a version of this painting (above in the gallery) that I was never totally happy with, mainly because I had rushed it for an exhibition. I decided to have another go.
I also used AI for feedback as I was going through the process, read more in my blog Art and AI
It took a month to paint this, not unusual for me, and I wanted to show the steps as people have commented that they enjoy seeing them on my Instagram.
Something a little different while we wait to know the finalists of the Art Prize!
Artists of Mallorca Art Prize 2026
The Art Prize is now closed for entries.
Finalists will be announced on the 25 August.
The Finalists Exhibition and Eleccion Popular will take place from 11 - 26 September (voting closes on 25 September) in the Museu de Sóller.
